We spent 34 years between us on the desk and in the engine room of recruitment businesses. One of us built, scaled and exited a firm of her own. The other built the systems that let teams run without their founder.
Along the way we sat in the same seat as the owners we now work with: the person everything routes through, with a shelf of frameworks from consultants who had long since moved on.
What was missing was never advice. It was someone in the room, week after week, who knew the business as well as we did and would do the work alongside us.
So we built Second in Command to be exactly that. A business that becomes an extension of yours, and one you become an extension of in return, because time is the one thing a leader cannot buy back.
400+ businesses later, that is still the whole idea.
